결혼 1주년 기념일에 교통사고로 아내가 식물인간이 된 혼다(야마모토 타로)는 부동산 개발 회사를 다니는 직장인이다. 아리사(후치카미 야스시)는 애인의 배신으로 상처를 입고 남자를 만나지 않으며 홀로 사는 독신 여성. 혼다의 직장동료의 소개로 서로를 알게 된 혼다와 아리사. 마침 사는 집도 근처인 혼다와 아리사는 자주 만나고 술잔도 기울이며 가까워진다.
혼다는 자신의 사연은 숨긴 채 아리사와의 만남을 이어간다.
