2001 베를린 영화제 알프레드 바우어상 수상.
’탈리’는 남편으로부터 아무런 도움도 받지 못한 채 아이들을 키우고 있다. 역시 4명의 아이들을 키우고 있는 사촌 ’메차’의 집에는 오랫동안 쓰지 않았던 수영장이 하나 있다. 그 해 여름에는 기록적인 더위가 찾아오고 ’탈리’와 그의 자식들은 ’메차’의 집에서 대부분의 시간을 보내게 된다. 때때로 다큐멘터리처럼 보이는 이 영화는 찌는 듯한 더위아래 휴가를 보내는 두 아르헨티나 가족을 적나라하게 분석하고 있다. 관객들에게 쉬운 동일시를 허용치 않는 냉정한 시선으로 부패해가는 부르주아적 환경을 보여주고 있는 것이 인상적인 작품이다.
