재독(在獨)철학자 송두율 교수는 한국정부로부터 간첩 혐의를 받고 있으며, 현재 입국금지상태다. 그런 그가 마침내 33년 만의 귀향을 눈앞에 두고 있다. 분단시절 베를린의 별칭이었던 경계도시(境界都市)’, 그리고 아직도 거미줄처럼 얽힌 레드 컴플렉스의 포위망 속에 있는 대한민국의 수도 서울. 그는 과연 돌아올 수 있을까? 그리고 우리는 지구상의 마지막 경계도시에서 거침없이 그를 맞을 수 있을 것인가?
