실력이 뛰어난 미소녀 팀 코토부키 비행대의 이야기를 그린 애니메이션, 황야의 코토부키 비행대(荒野のコトブキ飛行隊)는 ’이지츠’라는, 디젤펑크와 미국 서부극 세계관을 뒤섞어 놓은 듯한 이세계(?)에서 펼쳐지는 여성비행대 ’코투부키 비행대’의 모험을 다룬 작품. 우리에게 걸즈 앤 판처(Girls und Panzer)로 잘 알려진 미즈시마 츠토무가 감독을 맡았는데, 작중에 등장하는 모든 항공기와 대부분의 주요 캐릭터가 3D 카툰렌더링 기법으로 표현되고 있다는 점이 특징.
