때는 1836년, 당시 멕시코 영토였던 텍사스가 독립선언을 하자, 멕시코의 독재자 산타아나는 토벌군을 파견하게 된다. 이에 텍사스 민병대는 산 안토니오 교외의 알라모로 몰아 붙이게 된다. 산타아나는 민병대를 재조직할 수 있는 시간을 벌기 위해 알라모 요새를 사수하려 하지만 요새안에 있는 병력은 불과 200명도 남지 않게 되는데, 7천여 대부대를 이끌고 알라모로 진격하는 멕시코 군들과 이를 막아내는 알라모 수비대원들의 처절한 사투가 펼쳐진다.
