건달 출신으로 흥신소를 운영하고 있는 강필은 딸의 양육권 문제로 변호사 비용 마련이 시급한 상황이다. 그 때 이문희라는 여인이 거액의 수표를 들고 찾아와 박용대라는 남자를 미행해 달라고 부탁한다. 하지만 그 시기 박용대는 실종되고 이문희 또한 자취를 감추면서 강필은 곤경에 처하게 된다. 결국 스스로 사건을 풀어나가던 강필은 자신이 과거 일본군의 금괴와 연관된 큰 범죄의 중심에 들어와 있음을 깨닫게 되는데…
