프랑스 파리. 아일랜드 테러리스트인 시무스(조나단 프라이스)는 그들이 원하는 가방을 손에 넣기 위해 용병인 샘(로버트 드 니로), 빈센트(장 레노), 그레고르(스텔란 스카스가드), 래리 등을 고용한다. 한 팀이 된 이들은 가방이 여러 경호원의 보호 하에 수송 중이라는 정보를 입수해 니스로 향한다. 그 곳에서 샘은 직접 현장을 답사한 후 세부 계획을 세우고, 완벽한 작전으로 경호 차량을 모두 파괴하고 가방을 손에 넣는 데 성공한다. 하지만 그레고르가 가방을 빼돌리는 바람에 곤경에 처하게 된다.
