1949년 이란 혁명이 일어나며 서구식 근대화 정책을 추진하던 정권이 무너지자, 이슬람 종교 지도자와 그의 혁명 수비대가 나라를 통치하기 이른다. 서구식 문화를 따르며 풍족하게 살아가던 보석상 이삭은 수비대에 끌려가 모진 고문을 당하고, 회사 내 보석은 물론 집안 물건들도 도둑맞는다. 그러던 어느 날 감옥에서 탈출할 날만을 기다리던 이삭에게 협상의 기회가 찾아오는데...
