4년 만에 가석방된 주인공 존은 피해자의 딸 사라의 심장이식 수술비용을 위해 잔인한 내기 싸움을 시작하게 된다. 연속적인 승리로 그의 싸움 랭킹과 수입은 계속해서 상승하게 되지만 또 다시 어느 누군가가 자신 때문에 죽을 수 있다는 생각에 경기를 포기하고 만다. 하지만 존은 빚 때문에 위험한 상황에 처한 친구를 돕기 위해 어쩔 수 없이 역대 싸움 챔피언과 다시 경기를 하게 되는데….
