2014년 4월, 진도 앞바다에서 생중계된 세월호 침몰사건은 304명의 희생자가 속해 있는 가족들에게 평생 지고 가야 할 상처를 안겨줬다. 그 중에서도 단원고 학생들의 유가족들은 자식 잃은 슬픔을 가눌 틈도 없이 국회에서, 광화문에서, 대통령이 있는 청와대 앞에서 노숙 투쟁을 해야만 했다. 그들의 질문은 단 하나, 내 아이가 왜 죽었는지 알고 싶다는 것. 하지만 그 진실은 1년이 지나도 밝혀지지 않고 있다. 평생 ‘유가족’으로 살아야 하는 사람들이 마주친 국가의 민낯, 그리고 뼈아픈 성찰의 시간을 그린 세월호 참사 진상규명 투쟁 1년의 기록.
